Chiropractic care services

Experiencing hip pain?

Dr Helen harnesses the precision of Sacro-Occipital Technique (S.O.T.) and the diagnostic capabilities of Applied Kinesiology (A.K.) to comprehensively address hip pain. S.O.T. is instrumental in realigning the pelvis and sacrum, while A.K. helps identify possible muscular or nutritional imbalances contributing to the discomfort.

Given that hip pain often arises from a combination of factors like postural issues, muscular imbalances, or even nutritional deficiencies, Dr Helen recommends a regular schedule of preventative and routine chiropractic sessions. This proactive approach enables patients to not only manage current pain but also to avoid future issues by maintaining optimal hip function.

The three levels of care

Dr Helen follows a broad treatment paradigm for the three levels of care consisting of:

Level 1

We work to release the spine from its dominant holding pattern, allowing and aiding cerebrospinal fluid flow, which is so often reduced during stressful periods in life. We also focus on reducing muscle pain and tenderness and improving flexibility.

Level 2

We begin to correct secondary body patterns and further improve flexibility. We also correct any obvious nutritional deficits that begin to show up at this stage and continue to restore and normalise muscle and joint mobility.

Level 3

Continue to promote the body's natural intrinsic healing ability to aid the body in remaining in its optimum response pattern. This involves aiding and promoting cerebral spinal fluid flow, removal of spinal joint interference as far as possible and promoting strong muscle and ligament function.

I am often asked

Here are some commonly asked questions about hip pain and chiropractic care.

What types of hip pain can chiropractic care help with?

Chiropractic care can provide relief and support for various types of hip pain, including muscle strains, joint dysfunction, and hip osteoarthritis. The specific techniques used will depend on the cause of the pain.

Can chiropractic care replace hip surgery?

Chiropractic care is not a replacement for hip surgery in cases where surgical intervention is necessary. However, it may offer pain relief and improved function for certain hip conditions.

How long does it take to notice improvements in hip pain?

The timeline for improvement varies depending on the individual and the nature of the hip condition. Some people experience relief after a few sessions, while others may require more time to see significant improvements.

Can chiropractic care prevent future hip pain?

Chiropractic care can contribute to better hip health and posture, potentially reducing the risk of future hip pain. Your chiropractor may provide guidance on exercises and lifestyle modifications to help prevent recurrence.

How many chiropractic sessions are needed for hip pain relief?

The number of sessions required depends on the severity and underlying causes of hip pain. Your chiropractor will assess your condition and create a personalised treatment plan, which may include multiple sessions.
